What to Expect while Staying at Hickatee Cottages

  • Before you arrive, we will share detailed information about Hickatee Cottages property and our rate offerings to ease the check-in process.

  • Contactless check-in is available for “key in cottage” privacy. Contactless check-out procedures and electronic payment is also available at your request.

  • We will set-up a communication channel, via Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, or email with you to ensure we address any requests timely.

  • Prior to your arrival, your cottage(s) will be fully sanitized and sealed with a clean safety sticker.

  • Cleaning services will be available by request only to ensure social distancing is adhered to. If requested and for longer stays, our cleaning services will be completed while you are away from your room.

  • Hickatee Cottages is a private property; however, our staff will always maintain distance and wear a mask when serving you, if requested. 

  • To ensure the highest health and safety measures are taken, we offer daily health and temperature checks for our employees and guests. Our staff is also trained to complete a daily self-health assessment and pre-arrival safety protocol.

  • Housekeeping and kitchen staff have enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean high touch areas, public areas, bathrooms, sanitization dispensers and our vehicle(s).

  • Hickatee Cottages partners with professionally licensed, Gold Standard approved tour operators who uphold the highest safety standards. 

  • Hickatee Cottages has implemented a COVID-19 suspected case plan for handling situations in the event someone is a suspected case, which includes communicating to appropriate authorities, extended cleaning and disinfecting protocols and contact tracing to maximize everyone’s safety. Furthermore, Hickatee Cottages partners with The Caribbean Public Health Agency on Tourism & Health Reporting's.

While we are providing more social distancing protocols, every guest is special to us and we are focused on ensuring you have a comfortable, pleasant and safe stay.

  • Partner with the Government of Belize and Ministry of Health on preventative and detective health and safety measures

EMPLOYEE HEALTH & HYGIENE MEASURES

  • Enhanced measures for employee hygiene, including but not limited to entry protocols, daily body temperatures, self-health assessments, frequent hand washing, and face mask wearing.

GUEST HEALTH CHECKS

  • Management is available to assist guests in wellness assessments, liaising with respective government ministries for guest needs and providing additional health & safety support measures during their stay.

ENHANCED CLEANING AND DISINFECTING PROCEDURES

  • CDC COVID-19 approved cleaning and disinfecting protocols implemented

  • Enhanced room cleaning protocols for guest rooms and high touch areas

  • Frequent cleaning and disinfecting protocols for public areas, including restrooms, bar/restaurant and pool areas when multiple parties are at the property.

  • Sanitization stations for guests and employee use throughout the property

PROMOTE SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • Increased spacing between the dining room tables when multiple parties are at the property.

  • Physical distance signage to promote social distancing measures

As such, we have amended our booking and cancellation policy to offer additional flexibility when booking your stay with us.
