IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT HICKATEE COTTAGES
We work very hard to meet and exceed our guests' expectations, but it's important that those expectations are realistic. Please read information about us and our location to ensure it meets your needs:
> Off-Grid Experience: Off-Grid does not necessarily translate to jungle camping, but at Hickatee we offer the natural surroundings which you will not find in a luxury hotel. We have sufficient battery power for en-suite fans and lighting as well as hot water for relaxing showers, but we do not recommend the use of hairdryers or other high-powered heating devices to safeguard our power system.
> Unpaved Roads: While we are only 1.5 miles from downtown Punta Gorda, it can get muddy and our roads develop potholes. This, however, is the trade-off for a special jungle location, complete with resident howler monkeys.
> Natural Breeze: Our cottages are fully screened to allow for the fresh, nature breeze to flow through. With this jungle experience, our cottages do not include A/C.
> Safety & Accessibility: Hickatee Cottages is located on relatively flat ground, and paths are of gravel rock material. Each cottage has approximately six steps with safety railing and are within a short walking distance of all facility needs. Due to the nature of the location, Hickatee Cottages is not wheelchair accessible.
> Jungle Flyers. The jungle offers beautiful flora and fauna, but this also comes with the various insects of the jungle. We recommend insect repellent for those more sensitive to our winged friends.
